After singing her way through school and college, Delyth became a founder member of the Plymouth Mayflowers Chorus shortly after watching an inspirational concert at the Hoe Theatre given by the Great Western Chorus, a large men's chorus based in Bristol, in 1977. She sang baritone from the start of their very first rehearsal. When work moved her to Bristol in 1979, she hunted out the local ladies' chorus and joined the Avonbelles with whom she won LABBS chorus silver medals in 1983 and 1986. With three other chorus members she formed Bristol Crème quartet which won LABBS quartet bronze and gold (1983) medals; and the IABS (Irish) International quartet trophy in Cork in 1992 (no medals in those days!).
Moving to Cornwall, Delyth became the Musical Director of Brunel Harmony (LABBS) as MD in 1997. She introduced a more ambitious musical programme concentrating on good singing. That year Brunel Harmony qualified for the LABBS Chorus Finals for the first time. The following year, 1998, Brunel Harmony won the LABBS "Phoenix" small chorus trophy at the finals in Brighton. Brunel Harmony is an established ladies' chorus (LABBS Div. 2 champions in 2007) with status as an educational charity dedicated to bringing the joy of singing barbershop harmony to the wider community.
Delyth was appointed MD of Western Approach - a men's chorus which belongs to the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) in 2006 and directed Coast to Coast, the LABBS national chorus from 2005-2008. Yes, that was 3 choruses at once! She coaches a number of other British choruses and quartets, including most successfully QED, BABS champions in 2007 and IABS International silver medallists in 2008.

Before the family arrived, Delyth was a registered LABBS Arrangement Category judge. After they were grown she joined the Music Category as a trainee in 2005, certifying in 2008. She has since judged chorus and quartet competitions in England and Ireland and, excitingly, three times shadowed the main panel judging the Barbershop Harmony Society's ( www.barbershop.org ) International Chorus and Quartet contests in the USA. She directed the college chorus stream at LABBS Harmony Colleges in 2003, 2005 & 2007 and joined the 29th BABS Harmony College Faculty helping to deliver the Music Category Foundation Course. In 2010 she presented the "Theory of Harmony" course at BABS HC.
By the way the family are not to be left out; husband Dick sang tenor with QED and he and younger son Tom sing in, direct and coach Western Approach; Tom also sings bass in current top 10 quartet Cadence. His wife Charlotte sings with Brunel Harmony. Older son Joe sings baritone with BABS 2008 quartet champs Monkey Magic, lately renamed "The Great British Barbershop Boys" (www.barbershopboys.com), and directs the Nottingham Major Oak men's chorus. His wife Emma sings with the Nottingham Lace City Singers and in Eternity quartet. We are all waiting to see what part baby Ethan will sing!
